What's goin on with me?
Searching for Peace
Sometimes you wake up, it's Monday morning and you wonder what the hell is going on in your heart. I find myself in favor with God but those moments are few and far between. Becoming active in the community and leading a moving worship service is great but it's not the answer to a troubled heart. Just like reading your bible everyday and going to church every time the doors open won't repair the damage. Just like exposing fault in others won't make you feel spiritually high. Just like being a leader in the church and everyone thinking you've got it all together won't get you to heaven. I have to give way to God. He's the only one that can save my heart. Not religion. Not faithfulness to a building. It's just another example that outward appearance means nothing. Period. This wasn't meant to be a rant. Just a plea. I know God is always calling me to move forward but every once in a while I need him to pick me up and carry me there. I just can't do it on my own.
What's in my CD changer?
Well. John Mayer has released a new CD that I was skeptical of but quickly fell in love with. Continuum is greatness. Clay was right. I love John Mayer's charisma and ability to expose the deepest parts of his soul. This album has great soul. The Hush Sound couldn't have been a better find for me. I love bands that have members who all have a talent in the vocal department. The Piano and Guitar work on their new CD 'Like Vines' beautiful and very intricut. If these guys don't get airplay in the near future I will be shocked.
The Faith Community
Pray for us. Philip and myself will be heading to the donut shop again to buy people's donuts. I really hope that we can continue to minister especially to the owner of the donut shop. She was so excited about the love that was being shown last time we did this. By the end she was buying donuts for strangers! Her family basically runs the donut shop. They work Sunday mornings (really every morning) so they wouldn't be able to really ever come to church but what's most important is the relationship with them. Hopefully we can become close to them. Also that afternoon we'll be knocking doors and offering to rake leaves. Raking leaves is a BEATING if you do it by yourself but when there's a group of 5 guys doing it for you, it gets done in a flash. We just want to be a blessing to people and hopefully relieve the holiday stress in a small, simple way.
If you read this we need money for the donut shop and we need help that afternoon raking leaves. Let us know.
